Oriental linen is a two-ply fiber with a slightly nubby texture. Each ply has one thread of linen and one thread of silk. Use two-ply for specialty stitches on 18-ct canvas or linen or 1-ply for basketweave or cross-stitch.
The different fiber types, linen and silk, absorb dyes differently. Resulting in color variations that run the entire length as opposed to color changes a section at a time like our Silk 'n Colors.
